Friday, I took the girls and their friend Anna to Rio Vista Park in San Marcos so they could ride down the rapids in their inner tubes and life vests. Being a bit accident-prone, Anna cut the bottom of her foot on something in the water within a few minutes of us getting there. After rallying from that injury, she then managed to flip out of her inner tube going down one of the little chutes and hit her head on the rock bottom. It scared her more than hurt her, but she insisted she call her mom at that point and give her all the details, much to my embarrassment. "Don't worry, Mom, I'm pretty sure I'm not concussed...just a little dizzy..." 😳 Not sure her mother realized she was sending her daughter off on such a rough and tumble adventure. Anna agreed to sit out for thirty minutes. Then, some boy decided to try to steal one of our inner tubes, until Larkin and Anna chased him down and demanded it back. Thankfully, he gave it up easily enough. We made it back to Austin eventually with just a little ketchup-splatter incident to give Anna the trifecta for the day. Only my car console and shirt were injured that time.
We took it easier on Saturday with just an afternoon matinee of _Elemental_ and then we hit up Barton Springs this morning with Miss Jennifer. Busy summer days!
