A couple of weeks ago, Jessica visited Larkin's class to talk about being a high school teacher. The kids weren't all that impressed since they had already been visited by a fireman, a policeman, and a nurse; but they did enjoy feeling the heft of the 9th grade literature textbook. And they REALLY perked up when they each got a mini-basketball with the Austin High mascot Mr. Maroo on it. Larkin enjoyed being her mom's helper and then frantically throwing her basketball around the classroom while her friends held theirs above their heads and sang the ABCs.
Oh kids! Just wait until 9th grade literature. It is SO hard! I mean, look at the size of this textbook!
