Bluebonnets? Bah, Humbug!
Marvin took the girls to a field by our house this afternoon for a photo op with the bluebonnets while I was at a baby shower. The girls weren't exactly cooperative. Thankfully, the bluebonnets are all over the place all of a sudden and promise to be even better next weekend. Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, here we come!

Happy Birthday, Marvin!
Larkin is finally well enough to go to school tomorrow ( knock on wood) and was fired up about her dad's birthday today. She allowed him to peek in the gift bag M.A. left for him just long enough to see what was inside before she put it safely back in her closet, where she has decided it belongs (still in the gift bag, mind you). Here she is in Pontotoc over Spring Break, cuddling with the scarecrow she and M.A. put together. She thought it looked like her dad, whom she was clearly missing a lot!

A Relapse
Larkin stayed home from school today just so we could be on the safe side that she was well over strep throat. She played trains, went to her daddy's office, and kicked the ball up and down the soccer field at Austin High while waiting on her mom to get off work. But, alas, she has a fever of 102 again tonight after not running a temperature since Thursday. M.A. come back!!

Honk! Parade
We're still not sure what they were celebrating, but we joined in on the Honk TX fun anyway today -- a parade of, shall we say, eclectic community marching bands and dancers, hoopers, and unicyclists, followed by a band revue/competition at a local park in East Austin. Logan spent the afternoon confused. Larkin had some fun, but M.A. and Jessica couldn't stop dancing. We do love a parade...

Visitors
M.A. has been in town since Tuesday helping Jessica while Marvin is away. Unfortunately, Larkin decided to come down with strep and Logan with Hand, Foot, and Mouth on the same day. They've been pretty cranky; needless to say, we haven't ventured out much. We did manage to rally the troops for a trip to Trader Joe's and Torchy ' s Tacos today but not much else.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
The daycare sent me this photo before they changed her. Looks like she's already had a blow out this morning. She had on green for a minute anyway!

Early Morning Flight
The girls were crashed out this morning so sweetly that it was all I could do to wake them to make our flight out of Jackson on time. An early flight means we are home by 10:30 AM, however, avoiding most of the Spring Break travelers. Now, time for a nap.

On the Trace
Jimmy and MA drove Larkin, Logan, and Jessica along the Natchez Trace this afternoon to meet Grandaddy halfway between Pontotoc and Jackson. Here are the girls just before saying our goodbyes (till Tuesday when MA comes out to Austin).

Play date with Rials
Jessica and Logan spent the afternoon in Oxford visiting Jessica's friends Amanda, Jennifer, and Angela. Jennifer ' s son Rials is just a couple of weeks younger than Logan, so they had a great time crawling around chewing on various toys in Angela's kids' awesome playroom. Mason and Audrey napped most of the time we were at their house but were very good sports when they woke up and discovered a toy room torn asunder by babies.

Spring Break 2014!!
Kicked off with a visit last night from Grandma and Aunt Taylor on their way to Huntington for the week to visit Aunt Erin and her crew. Continued today with Jessica and Logan getting a 3 1/2 hour (!!) nap on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Larkin's getting excited about our flight on Monday. Jessica's trying not to stress too much about managing two kids in the airport by herself.
