Today was another one of those days when we had big plans for a fun-filled day that didn't exactly go as we had hoped. Originally, we were going to see a magician and the children's band The Biscuit Brothers at the Texas Book Festival this morning. Then, the plan was to grab some lunch and head to Austin High's football game (the only Saturday game of the season and the game Jessica actually had the best chance of having the energy to attend). What actually happened instead was that we got out of the house later than planned so that we missed the magician altogether. Sadly, by the time we found parking, unloaded the girls, walked to the festival, and located the children's entertainment tent, we had also missed The Biscuit Brothers. Seriously, they were still standing there in their overalls talking to their fans, just not playing anymore (ending 15 minutes ahead of schedule for some reason). Luckily, we did stumble upon Adam Rubin, author of _Dragon's Love Tacos_, reading from his newest book. And Larkin got a kick out of these people dressed up like a dog and a bag of groceries next to the HEB tent. Then, she got to go on a bouncy house obstacle course, which she loved so much that she threw a huge tantrum all the way back to the car because she couldn't do it again (her parents were starving and were trying to get us all fed before the football game). We went on to Snap Kitchen for lunch where Larkin threw another fit that she couldn't ride in the stroller. So we decided to go home for lunch instead, where we promptly ran out of steam and decided not to go to the football game after all. Larkin ended up playing soccer in the yard with her daddy and then going to Target with her mama to pick out Halloween treats. To make a long story short, we did exactly NOTHING we had planned to do today; and that includes Jessica's papers and Special Ed paperwork she was supposed to do tonight. So it goes...
