Wanting to keep up with her cousin David, Larkin made her own trip to the ER today. It all started with a morning visit to the doctor's office after a night of high fever (which she had acquired by the time we got home from our run yesterday. Notice her pink cheeks in yesterday's post). When the doctor couldn't find any signs of ear infections or sore throat, he sent us on to Dell Children's Medical Center for x-rays to rule out pneumonia. Five traumatic hours, lots of tears, some chest x-rays, and a UTI test later, we were finally able to come home with a diagnosis of a virus. The most expensive cold diagnosis ever, but we're relieved it's not pneumonia or a yucky UTI. Poor Larkin's only moment of enjoyment throughout the whole process was when checking out the fish in the waiting room (pictured below). Meanwhile, her fever has subsided somewhat, and she's sleeping comfortably now.
Oh no! Poor little girl! And poor parents. So sorry y'all had to spend your weekend like that.
