Fancy Drinks and Sunset Photos

 We closed out our last day at the beach with some fun frozen drinks and a sunset photo shoot. It turns out that the "Instagram Shuffle" actually does make for some great candid shots.

 The waves were so big, the boogie boards both broke, I lost two pairs of sunglasses, and I skinned my knee on the ocean floor!

Summer Reset

 The first half of June was marred by a couple of medical emergencies (stupid cashews), a hospital stay, and a severe stomach virus. The girls and I hit the reset button yesterday and headed for the beach. We arrived in Panama City Beach this afternoon to spend the week with my college friends, Jennifer and Amanda, and their children, Maggie (Jen's daughter) and Miles (Amanda's son).

Lamar Athletics Banquet

 That's a wrap on sports as a Scottie. Larkin's track coach, Coach Potter, is retiring this year after 35 years. So the banquet ended with the head football coach/athletics director choking up while he gave a speech for her and unveiled a banner naming the gymnasium for her. Larkin will miss her coaches but is hoping to see most of her teammates at McCallum HS in the Fall.

Moulin Rouge

 Larkin, Logan and her friend Georgia, and I went to the last show of the season at Bass Concert Hall last night--Moulin Rouge: the Musical. It was a really fun jukebox musical and a great way to end the Broadway Across America season! They wouldn't let us take pictures inside the venue itself this time, so I just grabbed a couple on our walk back to the car.

A Happy Mother's Day

 We spent the morning at the soccer fields because both girls' teams were in a tournament this weekend. They both played well, and Logan even orchestrated a goal for Mother's Day. 😁 M.A. then told the girls to treat me to dinner on her, so we lived it up at Hank's, where I had a crispy rice bowl, Larkin had a Bolognese bowl, and Logan had steak frites. Delicious!

Logan does have to go to school on her birthday, much to her dismay, but she felt a little better about it after stopping at Starbucks on the way.

Another Soccer Season in the Books

 The Bluebonnets played their last regular game of the season today, going undefeated this Spring. The Corgis also won their game today and tied yesterday, I just didn't get any pictures. Larkin and Logan both scored goals today. Both of their teams will play in a tournament next weekend, so we have about 8 hours of soccer in our future next Saturday and Sunday...⚽⚽⚽⚽ 

Logan's Birthday Celebration

 Logan and 4 of her friends escaped with minutes to spare from the "Insane Asylum" at the PanIQ Room earlier this afternoon. Then, they went back to the house for Cane's chicken tenders, lots of PlayStation, a scary movie, sheet masks, Oreo ice cream cake, and a sleepover. Logan has been planning the occasion for weeks, and she seems to be having fun! Happy 12th birthday (a little early), Logan!!
