One Rider Down

Larkin fell off her bike Thursday evening, and it turns out that she actually broke her wrist, which we only discovered 24 hours later when she was still saying it hurt. So she can't ride a bike or a horse for a month, meaning Logan got a private horseback riding lesson this morning.

I was driving home one day and came across Logan and the neighbor Gigi, cycling in their fineries...as one does...

Horse Show!

The girls couldn't have horseback riding lessons today because their instructor had some other students participating in a horse show in Dripping Springs this morning. So the girls and I went to check it out. There were no bleachers, and I didn't think to bring camping chairs. So that was strike number one. Then, there was a snow cone stand at the entrance, but I wouldn't buy them any. So that was strike number two. And then my colleague and friend Robbie was there, so I was trying to talk to her instead of having my undivided attention on the girls...needless to say, we didn't last very long at the horse show.

Bike Ride in Cooler Weather

The weather has been in the 70s and 80s instead of 90s and 100s for the past couple of days, so we pulled out the bikes. Larkin is in heaven. 

Postcard from Mrs. Graham

At the end of her first week of 2nd grade, Logan was thrilled to get a postcard from her beloved 1st grade teacher Mrs. Graham.

We are actually having some cool weather the last day or so, and the girls are loving the screened porch at the rental house.

The girls bravely logged into Zoom at a brand new school today. We miss our Pease friends, but each girl had exactly one friend from Pease in their classes at Zavala. Here's hoping it's a good year despite the circumstances.
