Leaping Frog Oral Histories

Larkin asked Marvin if he would visit her classroom sometime to talk about why we need plants and flowers. Since that is not really his specialty, per se, he decided to take his recording equipment to let the kids practice recording each other. Looks like it was a success!

Staying out of the fray

Logan had a fever this evening after school. In hindsight, it would seem she hasn't really felt well all weekend. Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for one of Larkin's friends. There was a water slide, a bouncy house, a trampoline, and a playscape all in the backyard. Logan took a couple of turns on the water slide and bouncy house but then opted to spend the rest of the party playing alone in the playroom (we didn't bring swimsuits to the party, by the way, which is why she is in her underwear below).

Movie with Friends

We went to our friends' Tim and Amy's house today for a cookout. Unfortunately, it started raining, so we had to move the party inside. Turns out that all our kids together in the house at once is pretty crazy, so Amy put on a movie. Four couples--ten children, some of them pictured here.

Birthday Cupcakes

We took cupcakes to Logan's classroom on Friday to celebrate her birthday. She didn't know what to think of everyone singing to her!

We Love Our New Book!

Thanks, Team Mitchell, for Logan's birthday book. We have read it every night this week!

Larkin's Work

I had to work late tonight and didn't get home before the girls went to bed. It does my heart good to see all these little pieces of projects that they've left around the house this evening, though.

Trying to get a good photo

Next to impossible, apparently...

Charlotte and Evan

One of the best parts about this past weekend's festivities was that our good old friends Pete and Becky and their kids Charlotte and Evan came to Austin for the wedding. We got to visit with them quite a bit but not nearly long enough for my liking!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweet Logan!

Logan has had a pretty low-key birthday thanks to the fact that her mother has had and is continuing well into next week to have a particularly hectic schedule full of many tasks all needing to be done at the same time. We took the girls for dinner at Hat Creek Burger Co, where they played on the playground and ran their little legs off. Logan got to open the one present I have gotten her to date--a little square house with a door on each side with keys to unlock each one. And, yes, I did buy it on the way to meet the girls and Marvin at the restaurant. Whew. We will do cupcakes with her classmates tomorrow afternoon before hitting the road out to Westlake for the weekend for Andi's wedding. We hope to do a little more birthday celebrating on Sunday once the wedding festivities are over.

Pinata Time

Larkin's class made pinatas today, I guess for Cinco de Mayo a day early? In fact, now I am worried she wasn't supposed to take it home today...whoops, too late for that little pinata...

First haircut

Logan and Larkin are going to be flower girls in my friend Andi's wedding this weekend. Logan got her first official  haircut today in preparation. She enjoyed being pampered a concerning amount.
