Christmas 2021

 

Big Day

Logan's birthday present from Marvin was the promise of a puppy. After waiting patiently since May, today she got a golden retriever puppy she named Melody. The cats are pretty mortified, but we think they'll be ok. 

 

Peppermint Parkway

I enlisted the help of Jen Henry to take the girls to Circuit of the Americas tonight to visit a different trail of lights than we usually go to at Zilker Park. We had a good time, and it even got cold outside so that it felt a little more like Christmas than it did earlier in the week. 

Larkin's Eleventh!

She's not eleven until tomorrow, but we had a birthday party this evening in the yard, complete with a little free-for-all soccer, trampoline madness, lots of s'mores, pizza, cupcakes, and a movie on the big screen. We only had one burned mouth and one dislocated finger. Overall, a big success, and we will all sleep well tonight.

Last Soccer Game of the Season

Grandma, Claire, Bailey, and Taylor all came to Larkin's last soccer game of the season yesterday morning. Larkin scored the game-winning goal with a beautiful, decisive kick. Even I can tell she's gotten pretty good, and I know nothing about soccer. Bluebonnets forever (even though their uniforms are red now)!

Halloween 2021

 Logan was a Vampire Princess and Larkin was something having to do with the Grim Reaper and a sword. Honestly, she did the best she could with what was left in the costume aisle at Walmart last weekend. 

Pumpkin Nights

 It's been a while since I posted. Time is flying this fall, and the girls' extracurricular activities are back in full force. We just barely pulled the Halloween decorations out, and it's only a week away. The girls and I went to Pumpkin Nights last night out at Pioneer Farms in Northeast Austin. It was quite a spectacle and helped us get a little more in the Halloween spirit.

A Bluebonnet Victory!

They've come a long way since the tiny field by the YMCA when they were four. Larkin's first soccer game of the season was this afternoon out in Pflugerville. It was h-o-t, and the other team was full of giant girls. But the Bluebonnets pulled through with a 2-1 victory. 

East Austin Orcas

Logan's joined the swim team at the East Communities YMCA. She's on a steep learning curve and is working very hard to follow the coach's instructions. We are proud of her!
