Sweet Sandy
I can't let today pass without posting sad news about our sweet Sandy. She made it almost 17 years but this week declined very rapidly. She spent the past few days not being able to stand, eat, or drink, and we felt helpless because we couldn't get to a vet. Marvin was finally able to take her in this afternoon, and they put her down to stop her suffering. She was a very good dog, and we will miss her.
Here are some pictures of her summer stay at my friend Lori's house where she befriended another old-lady-dog named Maddie and a few cats.
Snow Day Four
We are in day four of Winter Storm Uri, and the temps have finally reached 32 degrees. Thankfully, we haven't lost power or water, though we have very low water pressure and are under a boil water notice. Small inconveniences compared to the suffering of many this past week. The snow has gone from all powder to mainly slushy ice, so we were able to enlarge our snowman into a very fashionable snow-woman.

Austarctica, TX 2021
Little did I know when I posted the last snow photos that my next post would be of...even more snow!! It's colder in Austin today than it has been since the 80s apparently. The snow is deep, and everything's at a standstill for the next few days till it warms up again.

Let it Snow!!
It's actually been coming down for a few hours now. It's not sticking on the roads, so I guess it's not getting us out of school/work tomorrow. But it's pretty for today. The girls played for a bit but are disgruntled that they don't have better (any) snow gear.

2020 Trail of Lights
The Covid drive-through edition...certainly much, much easier than the usual hike through the mobs of people around the park, though it felt way too short without the concessions, the photo ops, and tired children begging to be carried halfway through...
