The Birthday Party

We teamed up with a boy in Larkin's class who shares her birthday so that we could invite the entire Pease third grade to their party. Turns out Friday afternoon is a decent birthday party day, so we threw a party for 46 kids yesterday. It was only slightly chaotic and resulted in many, many gifts.

The girls have alternated between time on their bikes and scooters outside and being VERY LOUD inside while it rains. This last downpour caught them off guard.

East Austin Studio Tour

We checked out a few kid-friendly stops on the East Austin Studio Tour today with Sandy and Rosie. The girls made puppets, rode a homemade roller coaster, made cameras, checked out some artwork, and ran around a lot.

I couldn't be there this year, but one of Logan's friends mom was there and sent me some photos of Logan and buddies. No such luck with Larkin.

Early Civic Engagement

We had a rally at Pease a couple of weeks ago on the day the City of Austin designated as Pease Day a number of years ago. Several well-known public figures including a former mayor and a current State Representative gave speeches in our continued attempts to prevent Pease from being closed in May. Larkin is very pleased that she made _The Chronicle_ and various news stories on TV.
