Larkin and Logan got to take their babysitter Miss Nicci to the children's museum on Monday while I got some work done. They got soaked in the water room and dried out on the playground, where Logan climbed all the way to the top of the net for the first time.

Sunday at the Vineyards

Marvin and I got to go two vineyards (William Chris and Lewis) with Jessica Leigh, Lain, and Ben and Joy Philpott (Lain's best friend from college who also happens to live in Austin). The Philpotts have a teen and a tween daughter who kept the kids while we were gone. It was just lovely.

Friends in Town!!

Jessica Leigh, Lain, and Baxter are in town for the weekend. We met up at Zilker Park this morning for a long playground session and a ride on the Zilker Zephyr. We then spent a couple of hours on the rooftop of Whole Foods, eating and visiting while the kids played on the playscape and a yoga expo went on all around us. Doesn't get much more present-day Austin than the rooftop of Whole Foods and a yoga expo.

In one of the more surreal UTCDC experiences...

This evening the girls' school had its annual multicultural festival, complete with dishes and craft projects from various countries represented at the CDC. It ended with students from the African Student Organization at UT performing for us...in the hallway...because that's the only place big enough for everyone to congregate. Only slightly awkward for those of us watching from down the hall, moreso for the dancers and those they were standing right in front of...although, I did groan audibly when the Center's director paused the male troupe's music mid-dance in order to announce that someone's car in the parking lot was about to be ticketed. Good grief.
