A monkey and a rainbow spider. We went out to trick-or-treat with Larkin's best friend Lucy and her family in Cedar Park. We all had such a great time that I forgot to take pictures. Here are a few not-very-good ones. You'll also see Lucy in her rainbow unicorn costume (you see the theme there) and Jude as a shark.

More and more rain
Fourteen and a half inches of rain fell at the airport today (not as much at our house). I made it to work just in time for a tornado warning quickly followed by a flash flood warning. But it was too late to send us all home again through the flooded streets, so we just had classes anyway. Marvin, thankfully, got the weather alert before he left for campus with the girls. They all hunkered down in the hallway for a little while and then just spent the day at the house. More rain on the way in a little while. So far, our house is fine. Those in Southeast Austin are having a terrible time, though.

Ava's 3rd Birthday Party
It's been pouring down rain all weekend here. Thankfully, the girls were invited to our friend Ava's 3rd birthday party and a bouncy house place. They spent most of their time jumping into this foam pit and getting balloon animals from the balloon man at the party.

Meanwhile, Logan's favorite toy...
...was the Spiderman Bop Bag we gave Cody for his birthday. She was ruthless. And Grandma was her faithful sidekick.

Performing
Yesterday, Cousin Claire got a gift at Cody ' s party from her Jones side of the family--a karaoke machine complete with mic and amp. Larkin pretty much spent the next hour belting out such classics as "Winnie the Pooh," "Puff the Magic Dragon," and "Baby Beluga." As her mother who was known to have belted out a few tunes on my own mic way back when, I thought it was glorious. To the less biased, it was...loud.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Cousin Cody!
We had a great time at Cody ' s birthday party today at Grandma and Grandpa's. The kids quickly devoured their cupcakes and ice cream before dashing off to their next adventure...except for Logan, who, as usual, savored her treats a little longer than everyone else.

Shoe Shoppers
We are at Grandpa and Grandma's house this weekend. Logan and Cody had a big time this evening trying on all the various shoes by the back door. A house full of family means lots to choose from...

Daddy/Daughter Day
I'll admit, today was nerve-wracking, as we were on high alert around the city after a threat was posted about an Austin school shooting on the same message board the Oregon shooter used last week. We decided it would be best for Marvin's and my blood pressure to keep the kids away from UT today. Thankfully, Marvin has the flexibility now to spend the day with them on short notice. Most importantly, it turned out to be a completely uneventful day other than a morning at the Thinkery for the girls and Marvin.

Dinner at Andi and Keith's
I've been running this past year with a friend named Andi, whom I've known for eight years as a classmate in Marvin's program. She is engaged to a guy named Keith, who has a 7-year-old son named Frank. They had us over for burgers tonight, and the girls had a blast in their dreamland backyard, complete with a playscape, a trampoline, and an airplane swing. Funny enough, Keith is from Hattiesburg, MS; so, of course, we have quite a few mutual acquaintances, including Jamie Dixon and Lindsay Smith. It's a small world, after all.

More Pics of our Panda in her Cape
She had a little boo-boo on her chin that kept bothering her, hence, the bandaid. Not sure about the solemn expression.
