We spent the day in Waco with Grandaddy, who is spending a few days in Dallas and was able to meet us there for lunch and a visit to a museum at Baylor. We had a great time exploring the museum's " Discovery Rooms," and I know two little girls who should sleep very well tonight.

Larkin's class met up at the dinosaur park in Bastrop this morning. The girls had a great time spotting dinosaurs all through the woods.

Playing Hide and Seek
Larkin and Logan loved hiding in a cabinet at Grandma and Grandpa's so much this past weekend that they just hid there over and over again. Made my job as seeker much easier!

A Big Day!
After four years or so, we are finally a two - car family again after a very long day of shopping around. The girls (and their parents) are pretty stoked about the new Odyssey in our driveway. Our day - to - day logistics just got a lot easier, for sure.

New Sleeping Arrangements
Larkin and Logan were really excited to see their new bed when they got home from school Monday, so excited that they climbed right in for an hour or so. Of course, when it came time to actually go to sleep, Logan had no idea how to calm herself down since she was in such close proximity to her sister. So she's still sleeping in her crib for now. Baby steps.

Back with the Cousins
This was a (backlit) photo of the kids I took last time we were at Grandma and Grandpa's. We're back as of tonight but no photos yet.

Fast Friends
My sweet friend Jennifer from work came over this past weekend to help with the kids while Marvin was at BBQ Camp. Larkin and Logan warmed up to her quickly, whether she was ready to be a human pillow/jungle gym or not.

Larkin's Ice Cream Selfies
She also insisted on filming some ice cream selfie videos, but I'll save those gems for another day.

First Swim Lessons of the Summer
The girls are yelling, "swimming!!!" here in case you can't tell. They were just a little excited. Both of their instructors, however, were forthright in their cluelessness, making statements throughout their classes such as, "Sorry! This is my first day," and "I am so confused," and "hey, y'all are ahead of the curve; maybe you should teach this class." So, clearly, these lessons are going to be very effective. Thank you, City of Austin Aquatics! Yeesh.

Playdate!
Larkin's friends Lucy and Jude came over to play this afternoon while their parents packed for their move to a new house. They all played well together, and Logan kept up as best as she could. Great fun!

Larkin's Nostalgia
Larkin is big into _Toy Story_ lately--all three of them. She frequently verifies with us that she does not, in fact, have to move away from us when she goes to college; and she has started showing interest in some of her old toys again, particularly when she sees a picture of herself as a baby with them. Tonight, we were looking through a photo album of her first year, and she saw a picture of herself with her pacifier. She asked if she could have her pacie back, and I told her they don't make them for four year olds. She just started weeping and begging for that particular pacie, finally saying she wouldn't put it in her mouth, just hold it. I realized she actually wasn't interested in the pacifier itself but just the puppy attached to it in the photo she had seen. In her mind that wub-a-nub was clearly her first toy; and like Andy in the movies, she can't get rid of her favorite toys. We verified that was her thought process when she then found the picture below of herself as a baby looking at Simon the Giraffe. She then went and found Simon and had me take the same photo. Then she asked me to film a video of her and Simon and proceeded to reenact the montage at the beginning of _Toy Story 3_ showing Andy as a kid playing with his favorite toy Woody. She's a little emotional lately...
