Favorite Author Event

Larkin and her friend Maya love several books by Holly Jackson; so we went to see her speak tonight at an event hosted by Book People at Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Austin. Both girls received a signed copy of her new book, and we were able to listen to a Q&A and then meet Ms. Jackson in person for a photo op. The girls were very excited, and Larkin has started reading the new book as of getting home tonight. 

Cleveland Take Two

 We ended our month-long road trip with another visit to Cleveland, this time for the Mitchell Family Reunion. The girls got to go to the Grammy Museum with Team Mitchell's kids, along with swimming at Uncle Ned and Aunt Bettye's, more coffee from Zoe Coffee downtown, another book from Cotton Row, and introductions to more extended family members than we could count.

 Logan, Mary Claire, and Maggie performed in the Plus Camp performance this morning, which means the Bendele girls (and Mary Claire) have officially aged out of this tradition. And then there was one! 😢

Plus Camp Day Five

Jimmy took the girls to Delta Dairy after Plus Camp on Friday before a rib dinner at the Airbnb. Meanwhile, Melody was spoiled all week with extra attention from Maggie and Mary Claire.

We got a snack at Chick-fil-A after camp, which was more of a full meal for some of us (Logan and Larkin). We stopped by the train museum before heading back to the Airbnb for Mani/pedis, card games, sheet masks, and dinner.

 The oldsters learned to play Mah Jongg courtesy of Jennifer Boyd Hale's tutelage while the youngsters were at camp. Then, we went swimming at Uncle Ned and Aunt Bettye's before spaghetti and card games back at the Airbnb.
