Larkin and her relay team ran the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 meter relays last night in the district track meet. They all ran their little legs off and amazed their parents. Right now, Larkin can only focus on the three-tenths of a second and half a second they finished behind other teams in the 4x100 and 4x200, as a difference in either of those two races would have put them on top of Gorzycki to finish 2nd in the city instead of 3rd (1 point separated the two teams at the end!). But, hopefully, she will also feel some satisfaction in realizing that her relay team (which includes the same girls that do the jumps) earned 83 of Lamar's 106 total points!! It was a great season, and we are sad it's over.

2nd in the City
Larkin finished 2nd in the long jump at the city-wide middle school track meet tonight. Her school swept the event. The relays are all tomorrow night.
Belated Easter Photos
Marvin sent Easter photos from Castroville, but I'm just now remembering to post them...I think they may need to start putting height restrictions on the Easter egg hunters...

Green School Project
Logan and her classmates presented their Green School Project at Ann Richards SYWL yesterday. Each student had a small speaking part, and Logan did a great job. She was in a small group of 4, and their contribution to their class's master plan is the large, rectangular 4-story model centered in this photo, which they designed and created in their STEM class using tools I don't understand. Notice the solar panels and even a windmill on the roof. 🙂

8th Grade Track Season Opener
Larkin and the Lamar Scotties dominated at their first track meet of the season on Thursday. Larkin ran the 400 m relay, the 800m relay, and the 1600m relay. They easily won all three events, winning the 800 m relay by at least 100 m. They even beat all the boys' teams in the 1600m relay except for Lamar's 8th grade boys, and Larkin had the fastest 400 split on her team. Here are some pictures of Larkin on her leg of the 800m relay.
