Special Delivery

Logan's teacher Mrs. Graham (who also taught Larkin in 1st grade) drove all over Austin today delivering goodie bags and keepsakes to all her students. As an all-transfer school, Pease students truly are spread all over the city. She left her house at 11 AM and got to us by 2:30 PM, still with four houses left to go. Mrs. Graham has been at Pease for 25 years and has decided to retire this year rather than have to start at a new school in the fall. We are all so grateful for her.

The Saddest Assembly

One of our favorite parts of Pease Elementary was the weekly assembly on Friday mornings. Parents were always welcome, and we didn't realize how unique that was to Pease until we starting touring other campuses. This morning we Zoomed in for our last Pease assembly. No surprise that it was pretty devastating. A tear or forty were shed by everyone in our house, for sure. Poor kids.

Harry Potter Movie One

The girls and I finished reading _Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone_ (Book One) earlier this week and are now watching the movie at the Airbnb we have rented for the month while our house construction continues. They are so excited and keep naming all the parts of the book they can't wait to see in the movie.

Social-Distancing with the Tooth Fairy?

Logan's hoping the Tooth Fairy can still get to our house despite social distancing regulations. She lost a big one!

Whoopsies

If you look carefully, you can see the piers the foundation crew had to come back in and replace yesterday as the first step in getting the measurements of the addition to match the measurements on the actual plans. You can even see the busted up concrete from the first new piers that they jackhammered out yesterday. Two steps forward, one step back...

Harry Potter and the Bag of Kettle Chips

Before the rain started this morning, the girls had a few minutes to sit outside while Larkin read some of Book Two of Harry Potter aloud and Logan are kettle chips.

Birthday #7

We celebrated as best we could with gifts, cake, ribs, and a Zoom party for the Ages. Happy birthday, Sweet Logan Girl.

Logan called Mary Claire on the Messenger Kids app so MC could watch while Logan opened the gift from Team Mitchell.
