Sunday Afternoon with Sandy

Most of the day it was cloudy, chilly, and windy, but the sun came out in the late afternoon, which warmed everything up. We took Sandy for a walk to celebrate. She was pleased and then very tired. But she didn't fall down at all, so that's something.

Swimming continues

Logan was the only girl in her class last session, so she's enjoying having some other little girls to befriend this time.

Up and Over

Larkin concentrated on climbing sideways across the rock walls at the climbing gym for a long time, not quite ready to go very high. Then, yesterday, she just decided to go for it.

Bike Ride at Mueller

Friday morning we took the girls for a bike ride around one of the Mueller pond trails. We spotted a Great Blue Heron, found a geocaching treasure under the spider sculpture, and the girls did a little tree climbing. Larkin shimmied up and jumped down, while Logan decided to hang like a sloth.

Wildflower Watch Part Two

We took the girls to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in South Austin on Thursday, hoping to see the huge monarch migration supposedly moving through Austin right now. We didn't see many butterflies at all, but the bluebonnets were everywhere. The girls also had fun exploring some of the features that they've added since we were there last. Oh, and an afternoon snack/second lunch.

The Girls' First Camping Trip

We survived two days at South Llano River State Park this week. It was cold at night, but we managed. The girls were troopers. The park suffered from a terrible flood back in the fall, so a lot of the trees were in rough shape. But it was pretty with plenty of hiking regardless.

Wildflower Watch

The bluebonnets are out at Grandma and Grandpa's, but the camera never does them justice. We loaded up in Grandpa's truck last night in search of other wildflowers that might be out, but it must be a little early for them yet.
