Outdoors, surprisingly, at In.gredients, a neighborhood grocery store down the road from us, where they have a covered patio with fans on full blast and plenty of misters. The girls ate vegan oatmeal cream pies, and I downed a cold kombucha. Because--Austin.
Larkin and Logan can't wait to meet their new Mississippi cousin Margaret Anne (Maggie) Mitchell. Won't be long before there are four silly little girls having fun together in Pontotoc.
...from the date of this post that we missed Grandaddy's birthday. For the record, it is 12:04 AM, and I haven't gone to bed yet. So, to me, it is still the 25th. Hope it was a great BIG birthday, Grandaddy!
...after 11 hours in the van, driving back to Texas. When we were rounding the overpass from 290 to I-35 and saw the city skyline, Larkin exclaimed, "Ah, there's nothing like Austin, TX!" We had a great time in MS, but it does feel nice to be back home.
We stopped in Oxford at Ned and Mary Beth's new house yesterday on the way to Madison to celebrate Grandaddy's upcoming birthday with all his grands in one place. The kids ate lunch, had some cupcakes, ran around the house, drew numerous Stay Puft marshmallow men, hid in a makeshift tent, built towers, danced with Grandaddy, and even collapsed on the floor a few times.
We had a fun few days in Pontotoc and a great almost-two weeks with M.A. Now, on to Madison by way of Oxford.
The girls had fun checking out the Healthworks kids' museum in Tupelo with M.A. this afternoon. Afterward, we stopped at a health food store nearby to buy some Kombucha for me. We also picked up a couple of vegan cookies and "natural" lemon gatorade for the girls, which promptly made Larkin sick on the drive back to Pontotoc. She is sleeping off the "health" food bug now. 🙄
The girls had a great time swimming in Ms. Carol's pool almost every day last week, even though they both look pretty serious in this photo with Emily Levingston and me.
Larkin and Madeleine had their big camp performance this morning. Larkin was very serious while on stage but did manage to sing her solo line loudly and clearly. She also created this lion painting this week, along with a ceramic hanging wall pocket.
We celebrated last night at Grandma and Grandpa's with fireworks, glo-sticks, and roasted marshmallows.
