Logan keeps freaking her teachers out at swim lessons with her new favorite game. She likes to push herself off the steps and act like she can't get back so that Larkin has to pull her back to safety. Of course, Larkin screams, "Logan! I'll save you!!" and then one teacher or the other will tell Logan to stay on the top step. They probably think I am a terrible mother for not jumping in after her, but that water baby doesn't fool me. Don't worry, though, I am always on the lookout!
We saw _Finding Dory_ this morning in an almost empty theater. 10:30 AM is the time to go see a movie with kids!
They're not quite as enthusiastic as they were in week one. But Larkin is improving her forward rolls, and Logan is working on being in a lesson without me right by her side.
The girls and I were all lucky to get to spend the whole weekend with our dads. Also, Larkin put together this chic costume tonight and is clearly very pleased about it.
We spent a couple of hot hours at Last Stand Brewery this afternoon with Grandaddy and the girls. A ceviche food truck just happened to be there for the day, so we ate and drank well.
We spent most of Saturday afternoon swimming at my friend Jennifer's pool. Larkin and Logan had a great time and were appropriately exhausted by the time we left.
At The Little Gym. Larkin got to practice her forward rolls, Logan got to swing on the uneven bars, and both got more Frozen party favors than they know what to do with.
Larkin and Logan are just at the ages where they can be in the same swimming lessons and gymnastics classes this month. Convenient! They both did well in their swim lessons today. Logan looked so tiny next to some of the beginner older kids, but she blew bubbles, kicked, jumped in, and floated as well as any of them. I guess she doesn't have the years of fear some of them have built up. Afterward, the girls both played hard in the splashpad/wading pool for two hours. They should sleep well tonight, which means they won't at all because they make no sense.
We picked up Larkin's buddies Lucy and Jude this morning and had a marathon playdate, starting with lunch and playtime at Hat Creek Burger Co, a brief rest at our house, then pizza and swimming at the Rumseys' house. We will all sleep well tonight!
I went to a baby shower this evening for a friend of mine who is due in late July. Larkin handed me this hot pink feather boa on my way out the door and told me my friends would love it.

Thank goodness, because Logan has started jumping and spinning all over the house lately. Here she is attempting the tricky jump/spin dismount from the yoga block.
