Fun Sunday with Friends
We met Larkin's best friend Lucy and her family at the Thinkery yesterday and then had them over to our house for lunch and a playdate. It's super sweet to see one's child developing a close friendship.

Words of Warning
Larkin's been practicing her writing lately on her mama's childhood chalkboard. She asked how to spell out this statement Tuesday evening: "Larkin wants people to tell the truth." Now, when she suspects anyone, namely Logan, of not telling the whole truth, she tells the accused to go stand by the chalkboard message, in hopes of guilting the truth out, we guess.

Cookout at the Sollocks'
We went to the Sollocks' house Saturday evening to celebrate Lance ' s birthday. Penny Sue, Larkin, and Logan had a big time on the trampoline and playset and them watching some TV. Marvin and I loved catching up with old friends we haven't seen in far too long, considering we live in the same city.
Checking Out McKinney Falls State Park
Just 13 miles from downtown Austin, yet we hadn't been out there in our 10 years here. It was really more a fall rather than falls...not enough rain lately. But it was pretty and made for some good family hiking.

Bike Riding, Strolling, and Treasure Hunting
At the park this morning. The dogs were excited initially and then almost immediately exhausted. Poor old, out of shape pups.

Larkin's First Soccer Practice
She had a blast. We're sort of waiting for her to lose interest when she realizes she has to follow the rules of the game; but for this first practice, she had fun running and kicking with reckless abandon.
