Train Track Tuesday

Logan is SO proud that she knows how to put the trains on the track now.

Saturday at the Thinkery

The new and improved children's museum opened in the Mueller Development last December, yet we just visited for the first time yesterday while Marvin was at Austoberfest on Foodways business. I have no idea why it took us so long to go seeing as we are members so our visits are free and it's within a mile of our house. At any rate, the girls had a blast; and we are sure to go back often, next time with multiple changes of clothes. Here are some pictures from the water lab in the museum. No, the smocks and crocs provided did not keep the girls dry...

Fun at School...

...we think. Logan's teachers have been putting photos on the class website. But so far, Logan has had the same sort of bemused look on her face in all of them. She's probably remembering all the photos her mama takes of her and thinking, "et tu, Brute?"!

A Swing for Two

Another swing session from Saturday's trip to the Natural Gardener. If Logan looks like she is contemplating jumping, that's because she did just that seconds after this picture was taken. Luckily, her dad was there to catch her.

Portraiture in the Park

Today was Free Museum Day around Austin,  so we packed a picnic lunch and headed over to an event at the Elizabeth Ney Museum called Portraiture in the Park. There were various booths set up with sculpting, 3D imaging, stop gap animation, face painting, graffiti art, mask decorating, fingernail design, and tintype photography. As it turned out, however,  Larkin is not over her stomach bug. She lay on the picnic blanket during lunch, rallied enough to make a quick circuit of the booths and the "castle" that had been Elizabeth Ney ' s sculpting studio, and then asked to go home. Maybe next year we'll get a tintype...

Another Visit to The Natural Gardener

Where we didn't find the erosion - prevention materials we were after but did get some quality swing time in between rain storms.

Solemn Faces

The girls are worn out after battling a stomach bug this past week. Larkin stayed home from school yesterday and today. Thankfully, both seem to be getting back to normal.

Logan Times Two

This evening while Marvin was dissertating, Jessica took the girls to Central Market for dinner, playground time, and groceries. While there, they ran into Larkin's classmate Logan, whom our Logan thinks is pretty great. Larkin and boy Logan ran all over the playground together while girl Logan attempted to run up and down the playscape ramp.

Watching the Game

Logan is sickly and sleeping it off. Larkin is taking it easy on the couch this evening, snuggling with her daddy and watching various football games through her binoculars.

Yoga Interrupted

Jessica was attempting to do day six of The Thirty Day Yoga Challenge on youtube tonight. Logan had other ideas.

Pontotoc Splashpad

Also known as M.A. and Jimmy's courtyard. Hope I didnt already post these back in the summer...

Another Week Night

Which means another work day, which means not much photo fodder for the blog. Here's yet another flashback to one night in Pontotoc instead. It appropriately portrays the girls' fatigue after long days at school and their mother's relaxed countenance once they are down for the count.

A Mural of Texas

Austin loves its murals. This particular one is on the Drag by the Co-op. Larkin got a kick out of "the map" as she called it.
