Angelina County Rodeo

Thanks to Aunt Erin and Uncle Jay, Larkin got to attend her first rodeo this weekend in East Texas. She was scared of the tractor smoothing out the dirt in the arena when we first arrived but thought the horses were fascinating. Unfortunately, Larkin got too tired to stay for the bulls. Next time, baby girl.

Larkin also got to enjoy a wagon ride with Cousin Bailey, compliments of Grandma...

 ...and then Grandpa...

She also loved seeing all of Aunt Erin and Uncle Jay's horses, their donkey Rufus, and their cute little baby chicks.

Meanwhile, Uncle Brian and Aunt Daisy's dogs Shirley and Chase gazed longingly out the window at all the excitement in the front yard.

Trust Falls?

Larkin came up with a new game last night--standing on the couch and then leaning forward like she was going to fall right off because, of course, she knew her mom or dad would catch her. She's not allowed to play that game anymore, much to her disappointment.

Scared of Her Own Shadow

No kidding. Last night Larkin walked into the kitchen, cried a little bit, bent down and swatted at the floor, then ran to her daddy crying. She now looks down frequently to check if that pesky shadow is still there and even cries if her parents or teachers say the word "shadow." Poor little girl . Her parents are hoping she grows out of this phase really quickly. Here are some photos of her staying well clear of the scary dark thing following her around everywhere.

Dinner at the Big Girl Table

Larkin thinks everyone is as interested in her food as Snoball is.

So she's showing you her dinner...while she's chewing it.
